Client Progress!!

Posture is so simplistic, so foundational that anyone can look at the images below and instinctively discern what's healthy and what's not - and yet, it gets overlooked All The Time.





Until we stop to look (or until pain forces us to) - we are seldom aware of our alignment. Our body’s perception of ‘straight’ gets so distorted over time, that we don’t even notice when one shoulder creeps up or when we’re twisted unto ourselves. Our body will adjust and compensate until it can’t anymore, then the warning lights come on and we are in pain.


Unfortunately, at this point, we tend to focus on the pain and want to treat the symptom. And while that may absolutely be necessary, we again overlook the simple and foundational answer: we’re not stacking up correctly!


The client in these images was alerted to excess tension in her upper body by her chiropractor. A misaligned posture often leads to such strain, as muscles battle gravity instead of relying on it.


So - we started working together to align her posture. In the second session she realized she hadn’t mentioned this deep pain she has in her right foot. She hadn’t brought it up in the first session, because it has been with her for so long, it had become a constant companion. After 3 sessions the pain would come up only once/week and less intensely than before, and after the 4th session it vanished entirely.


2 seemingly separate issues were resolved by stepping back and working with the body as a whole.


Kudos to this client for putting in the work to retrain her body and reclaim her pain-free posture!!
